Fixed ladders need to be inspected at least every 12 months to conform to PUWER 1998 Regulations.

If changes to the working environment are made, a ladder inspection should be carried out immediately before being used for access requirements. Any signs of loose or missing fixings, corrosion, broken fittings or items of equipment not working as they should, require an additional inspection, and the ladder should be taken out of action until certification is awarded.

Hydrov Testing Services Ltd can inspect, test and certify your fixed ladders – independent from, or alongside, your 2 yearly TB203 Fire Water Tank survey obligations.

Our comprehensive inspection process ensures a thorough evaluation of all critical components and areas of the fixed ladder with a detailed report being sent to our customers following the inspection. This will include a ladder certificate indicating the outcome of the inspection with any recommendations and a quotation, should further work be needed to ensure the ladder complies with safety requirements.

Fit for purpose ladders are fitted with a ladder tag, confirming it can be used to access the tank at high level. The ladder tag will have a unique QR code that can be scanned by anyone using the ladder, giving remote access to the ladder certification.

If a ladder has not been assessed and certified as fit for purpose, no one should use it.

Hydrov Testing Services Ltd also record each ladder inspected, sending annual reminders to all customers, ensuring Regulation conformity is maintained.
